The Horror Continues

by Will Wilkinson on November 13, 2008

The writing along the bottom edge of the badge are lyrics from the Beatles classic “Don’t Let Me Down”: “I’m in love for the first time. Don’t you know it’s gonna last. It’s a love that last forever. It’s a love that has no past.” Completely disgusting. Only $200!

  • Everyone looks confuse LOL
  • me too i cannot understand what they mean about the horror continues.
  • I don't understand the controversy here.
  • Just found your blog through Google, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy it.
Thank you for the info. I’m looking forward to the additional valuable information here.

I love your post and the stuff you provide! Thanks for the admirable work!
  • Thats remarkable. Jeez
  • bookmarked it. Ill read it later after im done with my work...
  • Thanks for a nice and informative site. Somehow I was drawn to reading the post and I enjoyed a lot. Have a nice day!
  • IT all seems to be a movie publicity and that a celebrity is campaigning to let people like him..... But it all worked though!
  • Yeah thank you for this wonderful post. I enjoy reading it.
  • This is a wonderful article.....

P.T. Barnum meets the Obama cultists: There's STILL a sucker born every minute!

    Cool Cat -

People on the Obama Art Report seem more interested in these pieces as investments (they seem to be appreciating quite well).

So in the end Capitalism does beat hope and change...

    Ha.
  • Cool Cal
Okay, first I must say that anyone with this level of infatuation will not give up hope, as it were, even after reality contradicts all the pieties and bromides. Remember Bush 2, and they weren't even crushing this hard, but the level of self deception was truly deep and very destructive. Just because these are liberals we are talking about here doesn't mean they won't turn the same blind eye to the rape of liberty - "because, well this time it's OUR GUY!"

Second, I just found a website entitled "Obama Art Report". It is self explanatory.

    http://www.obamaartreport.com/

And this is even scarier than Will's find. Behold ... "Unidad", it's the last painting on the page. There are rays of light coming from behind his head for Christ's sake!
  • mk
In fairness, those rays of light are clearly coming from his shoulderblades.

This teenage crush on Obama can't help but end in the way they always do - utter disappointment.

Will the backlash be as irrational as the lead-in?

Will those of us who never loved or hated Obama be ignored by the infatuated/disillusioned both ways?
  • mk
Well, wait, though. U2's been wildly popular for many many years, to throngs of people who turn to it, though it be slightly ridiculous, with expectant, hopeful hearts. Maybe Barack is the next U2.

Of course, their best years were their least popular, which may not augur well. But they were at least damn good in the early days too.

So long as the next one doesn't say:
Ya say ya want a Revolution, well ya know..

I expect hero worship based on the behavior of the crowds during the campaign, but maybe we could tone it down a bit..that goes for Chris Mathews too!
  • Will,
There could be silver lining in all of this. This could offer a great opportunity for Bureaucrash to design all manner of parodies. This could be a target-rich environment, such that we've not seen in decades. Your digital video camera may well come in handy!
  • If it happens, I promise my art degree will come out of hiding, and I'm buying a good digital video camera. Watch out YouTube!
  • Cool Cal
If you think this is bad Will, just imagine the kind of artwork that will spring up in the wake of the much bandied about "New New Deal". Remember all that charming WPA agitprop. And don't get me started on the Federal Theatre Project!
  • mk
In all honesty, though, I've entertained the thought of getting a bumper sticker printed that said "just don't screw it up, buddy" -- which is kind of the same message as this gaudy piece of crap art has.
  • First of all, there are grosser things for sure. Secondly, I run OMGPosters, and also live in Iowa, small world!
  • I love your blog, Mitch! I've found a bunch a great stuff there, so thanks. But please please up ease up on the BO posters, willya? Before he won, it was cool to see all the energy. Now... just creepy propaganda.
  • mk
Aw come on, the longer we make it last, the more we get to rewire our brains to become less racially insular... that was part of his whole campaign, that's part of what we were voting for, don't deny us our payoff!! REWIRE THE BRAIN!!!

REWIRE! REWIRE! Sorry, did somebody say creepy?
