Readings for Jacob Weisberg

Larry White in The Freeman [pdf].

Oh, wait. I’m sorry. I’m being silly. Weisberg doesn’t need to read this. The Freeman is a libertarian publication, and so you know in advance that Larry White’s a utopian ideologue simply in denial of what we all already know. Sure, he may seem to cogently rebut a Paul Krugman column calling for increased government intervention in financial markets. But seriously, Larry White: Haven’t you people done enough harm already?

  • The argument about need for government regulation is irrefutable now that intervention has been required to protect from too much system damage.

That one's a dead horse. Stop beating.

How about a deathmatch between Krugman and Boudreaux?

WW: you're unhinged. You're world is crashing around your feet. Yes, Weisberg makes no sense and Krugman is absolutely right. It's not that hard to prove. The facts have been spelled out by an awful lot of folks in an awful lot of places, starting with Ben Bernanke (wise man, no?). And , yes, your worldview has been proven irrevocably false.

Speaking of self interest: better keep the lies coming, an make them sound good, because you want to keep CATO and your job alive! Sheesh, if you were were to say Krugman was right you'd probably lose your job, like poor ol Chris at the National Review.

I third GilM's suggestion. Get Bob to invite Wesiberg to BhTV and kick his ass good.

    That spinach was tainted?
  • You're right, Will. I hereby apologize for causing the financial crisis. And for the next one, although I no doubt publicly blame it on moral hazard and loose monetary policy. I also apologize for that tainted spinach last year.

  • Commenting on Slate seems to be down for maintenance.

This is clearly the fault of too little regulation.
  • Invite Weisberg onto Bloggingheads to defend his article!
  • I second that!
  • Uh-oh, Angry Will has been awoken! You go!
