Marketplace Commentary
I was on Marketplace Morning Edition this morning, providing a commentary on America’s dismal attitude toward trade.
If you’re reading this, you know my blog is not in fact theflybottle.com. And I really need to get my Cato picture updated.
This was my first shot at this sort of thing. Please tell me what you think…

I think you did a great job!

I agree.
I’d have preferred if you’d been able to say something more than “protectionism doesn’t protect” to dispel the fallacies in the anti-trade fears, but I realize that time was short so you focused on the psychological aspect more than the economics.
But, the point was good and you did a great job delivering it.

Short, concise, and insightful. I’d like to hear more from you on Marketplace and other NPR programs. Thank you!

I have worked in International Trade and Retail for 10 years, with an emphasis on business in China. I very much enjoyed your story and agree with your point of view.
I have since ahared your site with several business associates and friends alike. Keep up the good work!

Nice job. I was interested to learn that the world opinion of trade was so high. I’m familiar with the fatility of protectionism, but it was nice to get a take on the psychological reasons for Americans distrust of free trade. Enjoy the site…just added you to my blogroll.
