Will, fascinating stuff!

Studies have show that stress, in large, is a direct response from electromagnetic radiation exposure. Evidence from tests on plants and bioassays, from space research, from physiology, psychology and studies of biological rhythms as presented by Presman clearly showed his point: An organism can be affected by electromagnetic fields in the environment, from other organisms as well as by itself. In a 1971 report to the American Ministry of Health, scientists K.T.T. Yao and M. M. Jielsan mentioned alarming genetic damages, such as breaks and partial untwisting of DNA cells in animals. Similar electromagnetic-induced chromosome changes were also discovered in humans’ white blood cells. Bioenergetic technologies such as biopro have been the only measurable solutions to strengthen anyone resilience to stress.

Leonard: Buckminster Fuller thought that TV would have just the opposite effect. It would allow us to trick the appropriate part of our brains into thinking that our peers are high status, and thus would make us healthier. Yes, we don't have the material possessions of the celebrities we see on TV, but we seem to have their attention, which is probably the important point for assessing our status.

It seems very likely to me that in our TV saturated culture, the underdogs take their stress cues from what they see on the tube. Hence, there'll be lots of people perceiving themselves as low in the heirarchy, by comparing themselves to their virtual "peer group" of celebrities, stars, and the very rich. Certainly the sort of aspiration you hear in rap music suggests that the artists are not only comparing themselves to their immediate community.

Very interesting stuff....I'm not sure that we'll ever fully understand what makes us tick due to all the complex variations of human chemistry and environment. But the real reason I'm posting a comment is to let you know that your obscure South Park reference was appreciated.
